About The Cyber Challenge
The Regional Cyber Challenge 2019 is hands-on Cyber Security Challenge organised by Silensec and Cyber8Lab using the Silensec Cyber Range platform. The Challenge is organised in conjunction with the AISA Perth Conference 2019 themed Change the Rules, Up the Game.
The event will see the gathering of cyber security Professionals from many countries and the objective of this challenge is to assess the ability of a security team to detect, respond and recover from cyber attacks and it therefore calls for teams with multidisciplinary competences.
The challenge has been modelled against the Specialised agency’s of the United Nation, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Cyber Drill Programme called the Applied Learning for Emergency Response Team (ALERT) while combining the action of attack and defense competitions. The challenge will last for five (5) hours during which each team will have access to its own infrastructure and to defend from and respond to a range of security attacks.
- Participating teams are expected to be using their own laptop or workstation with a registered account with Cyber Range.
- Participants can be based anywhere in the world as long as they are connected to the Internet.
- Cyber Range offers a Community version which is free to use to practice prior to the challenge.
- The top three (3) teams awarded the most points will receive a prize and Certificate of Recognition.
